  • Assignments #10, due April 6, 2 PM
    Team up with a classmate and create a standalone structure from a 2D design process that includes at least one decorative = engraved element; output and assemble your design with the laser cutter. Document your process on your blog and bring the outcome to our next class. Please coordinate with Kelly Cave, our Thingspace fellow, for Thingspace hours and machine help. 
  • Look at each others’ homework and give comments. Leave a minimum of 7 thoughtful comments, which provide feedback on the work as well as recommend ways to take the work further. Indicate on your blog who you gave comments on and share in a few sentences your take-away from looking at each other’s coursework.












I took comments on Xinyi's and Yiran's projects. I loved their projects so much. They made projects by incorporating innovative technologies and their outstanding creativity skills. One thing made me feel impressed that they would like to explore multiple tools in a single project, even it is not required. Moreover, both of them select making video with live photo, and they told me how to make that kind of animation using Dazz, I might try it later.

    Wow! You design a table with planets! I am curious how you calculate the size of different parts because it is struggling for me. I am also interested in why you choose planets instead of plates, cups, or bottles. Anyway, it is an amazing job!

  2. Hi Lucky. I am Lulu. This is such a beautiful outcome. I think it will be so nice to introduce this model to classrooms. Students can know how solar system looks like and the distance between each planets while they look at this model. The little planets are so cute and the structure of the table is interesting.
